Well, I decided that as my exotic life is at a near standstill....alright, I can't actually stand ....still....for long.....I would plunder my global archive for images of a stimulating and diverse nature, hopefully prompting me to think of something to say. Which I must say, is working terrifically well. So, without further ado......let me introduce someone who needs no, or very little introduction. Unless you don't know her of course. This is the very lovely Ms. Rockette Morton. She runs on beans. My picture captures her at my Farewell My Lovelies Party back in August, just as she finishes politely laughing off my suggestion that we, erm, go back to my place. She later insisted very sweetly that it was only because, and I quote, I didn't have one......
Yet another from the party, as Steve reacts appropriately upon hearing that, in an unprecedented move, for next years Fringe, Wendy is booking a World Famous jazz oriented band none of whose members are actually dead.....mind you, it's not til May......
And now to a band who are also very much alive.....thanks to Oedipus for playing their impromptu set at my party.....great set guys !! Oh ummm no, these are actually my grandkids Jayden and Cole.....but they were at the party and as you can see, they were pissed....
Posted by Picasa Now for a finale of finale-ness...... a closure on a closure.....and I do have closure on this particular closure. You can tell from my demeanour, can't you. It's obviously a good thing. I always said I wanted to travel, to get about a bit. And in 13 years running the shop I did.....about 40 feet, from sitting at the back to sitting at the front. Yes, I guess I had it back to front.
Also relieved in the picture (steady now) is the excellent Dave from Purr....my trusty Sunday man for many hundreds of years, or is it just that it seemed like it working Sundays in the shop???
Well for the want of anything better, or in fact anything, here's more pics from the archives.....though I am going to the Docs tomorrow to see if my leg is a leg at all yet....so there will be some news of something happening soon....no really.....there will be.....anyway this is a picture of Shorn Rah from behind the bar at the Bell getting his own back after hearing I had been wearing ridiculous Goth boots and attempting to look cool like him......yes ok, he does look a bit like me but I would never stick upducky in my hair and shape it up like some twat of a footballer or anything.....shapely calf though, I have to admit....and you're supposed to ask "what's upducky??"............
..........well this is my mummy Maria considering whether to follow Shorn's style move in copying my hairdo or not.....gladly, not.....
.....and for those of you wondering about the doggies, here they are again....why won't Nashy come and play with us.....we love him so and he's such fun to hang out with......well, doggies, it's because I've broken my fucking leg ok?????
Posted by Picasa .........always good to finish on a bit of cheesecake.....and as a diabetic, that's one of the things I miss most.....talking of which here's Sarah who is a young lady.......
Brasil's not that great, you know.....
Ok....you've got the hang of it by now.....my life consists of interminable bouts of nothingness interspersed with periods of complete tedium brightened by dull things and immense discomfort......but there is my mummy Sonia......she is marvelous, she is strict, she is understanding and she is ....well, my mummy.....and you should see her when she really smiles !
OK I'll admit it....things have got so fucking dire that I'm resorting to postcard pics of the local attractions.....above is the church at Saquarema, immediately beyond which is the now regularly dredged waterway which allows the lagoons to fill and drain from the Atlantic....before that they were getting a bit smelly and horrible.....beyond that is the trendy surfing beach of Itauna, gorgeous but the highest priced part of Saquarema.....in the foreground is the town beach, and behind me about 30 minutes walk is the tennis clubhouse I'm buying, in Boqueirao........
.........here a view across the waterway from Itaune towards the church....very hard to find a pic of Saquarema without the fucking church in it......I hate fucking churches......
Posted by Picasa .......no, actually I've done it.....a shot of Saquarema without the church......the view from Morro Da Cruz along the side of the lagoon towards the coast.....that's that thin strip at the top, beyond which is the ocean.....and at the top and just to the left, purely for the sake of your bearings, is, yes, you've guessed it, the fucking church.....ok I know it's there but at least this time you can't see it......
